Group 6, 7, 8 and 9 has low affinity for hydrogen in the normal oxidation state of the metal. It is called as the hydride gap. However, the metal Chromium from Group 6 is an exception and form hydride compound with hydrogen. It is called Chromium (I) hydride (CrH).
