Chlorofluorocarbon is used in air conditioners and in domestic refrigerators for cooling purposes. Its main drawback is that, it is responsible for ozone depletion. Basically, it eats away the ozone layer in atmosphere by generating free chlorine radicals which reacts with ozone and cause its depletion.
