Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion. London smog occurs in cold humid climate, when carbon soot particles combine with gaseous oxides of sulphur, present in atmosphere. Due to presence of carbon particles and SO2 it is reducing in nature. This smog causes lung and throat irritation and in high concentration it leads to death.
