Which of the following equilibria will shift to right side on increasing the temperature ? (PMT 2000)

A.CO (g) + H2O (g) CO2 (g) + H2 (g)
B.2 SO2 (g) + O2 (g) 2 SO3 (g)
C.H2O (g) H2 (g) + 1✓ Correct
D.4 HCl (g) + O2 (g) 2 H2O (g) + 2 Cl2 (g)
Explanation

Except option (c), all the other reaction are exothermic reactions. So, according to the Le-Chatelier’s principle, for an endothermic reaction, with the increase in the temperature, the reaction is favoured in the forward reaction. Whereas, the reaction is directed in backwards direction with the increase in temperature for exothermic reaction.
