But the requirement for the aldehyde to show aldol condensation is that, the aldehyde must have 훼−퐻푦푑푟표푔푒푛. So, the chloral whose formula is 퐶푙3퐶퐶퐻푂 doesn’t have 훼− 퐻푦푑푟표푔푒푛 so, it cannot show aldol condensation.
