Terylene is a copolymer of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol. It is a polyester fibre. Since, it is a product of condensation polymerisation, in which molecular mass of polymer is not a whole number of monomer (due to loss of H₂O molecules). It is also called step growth polymer. It does not involve chain growth polymerisation. Hence, it is not a chain growth polymer.
